Turn curiosity into possibility

An exploration tool, not a personality test or a personalised course recommendation. Your adviser considers academic background, interests and circumstances together.

A personal decision deserves personal advice

Two perspectives.
One considered choice.

Students and parents often arrive with different questions. We make room for both. Your adviser helps the student articulate what matters, helps the family understand the options, and brings those priorities into one practical plan.

01 / FOR STUDENTS

Your interests are
the starting point.

You do not need to know every university. You do not even need to have chosen a subject. Start with what excites you, what you are good at and the questions you have.

  • Explore a direction that feels like yours.
Discuss subjects, learning styles and possibilities beyond familiar course titles.
  • Picture your everyday life.
Understand the campus, city, accommodation and communities you could join.
  • Have room to change your mind.
Ask questions, voice doubts and revisit your choices with someone who knows your priorities.
Let’s explore your possibilities ↗
02 / FOR PARENTS

A decision your
family can understand.

You are considering more than an application. You want to know why a university suits your child, what the commitment involves and how the next steps will be managed.

  • Understand the recommendation.
See the academic fit, entry requirements and trade-offs behind each shortlisted option.
  • Plan the practical commitment.
Review tuition, living costs, timing and accommodation as part of the choice.
  • Keep a clear point of contact.
One adviser who knows the family, explains decisions and agrees the application plan with you.

The value of a private adviser

Advice that becomes
more personal
with every conversation.

A search tool can help you discover courses. Personal advice helps you decide what belongs on your shortlist. We work with your interests, your circumstances and your questions — then explain why each recommendation deserves consideration.

01 / CONTINUITY

You do not have to
start over each time.

Your named adviser carries the context from meeting to meeting. Follow-up conversations deepen the understanding behind your choices.

02 / JUDGEMENT

Fewer options.
More understanding.

A manageable shortlist, with the reasons and trade-offs written down. You can question the advice and decide with greater clarity.

03 / PERSPECTIVE

The course.
And the life around it.

Academic content matters. So do the teaching environment, student community, accommodation and the city you will call home.

Know the university.
Understand the fit.

Jak brings over fifteen years of experience helping students choose UK universities. His first-hand campus knowledge includes accommodation, academic environments and the communities students become part of.

He begins by understanding the student and the family. Together, you explore a shortlist, examine the strongest options and build a considered route to admission.

Why Visa Tier

Your education.
Your family.
Your bigger picture.

For over a decade, Visa Tier has helped private clients, entrepreneurs and international families navigate business immigration, second citizenship and family relocation.

Education is often where those decisions meet. We bring that wider perspective to your university choice — understanding the student’s ambitions alongside the family’s plans for where and how they want to live.

01 / UNDERSTAND

The whole family,
not just an application.

We explore education, business, mobility and lifestyle priorities together, so each decision supports the life you want to build.

02 / CONNECT

Education with
a longer view.

Your university adviser and Visa Tier’s immigration expertise help connect the immediate study plan with options worth considering after graduation.

03 / ADAPT

Guidance as
your plans evolve.

From reviewing visa extensions where permitted to assessing a change of route, we help you plan the next step as your circumstances develop.

Beyond graduation

A UK education can be
the start of a longer journey.

We can assess a potential route towards UK settlement and, later, British citizenship — built around your eligibility, ambitions and the rules in force.

  1. 01

    Study & establish your direction

Choose your course and plan your Student visa, including an extension for further study where eligible.

  2. 02

    Explore your next visa

Depending on eligibility: a Graduate visa, sponsored employment through Skilled Worker, Global Talent or Innovator Founder. Each has its own requirements; a Graduate visa cannot be extended.

  3. 03

    Plan for settlement & citizenship

An eligible immigration route may lead to indefinite leave to remain (ILR). British citizenship requires a separate application and further conditions; a passport follows citizenship.

Studying in the UK does not itself lead to settlement or citizenship. Student and Graduate visas are not settlement routes. Switching, qualifying residence and later applications depend on individual circumstances and the rules at the time.

Looking beyond the next step.

The greatest gift
is the freedom to choose.

For more than ten years, we have helped clients from around the world navigate immigration and build lives across borders. Often, they come to us as adults — with a business, a career or a family — looking for choices they wish they had discovered earlier.

Working with thousands of clients has shaped a personal conviction: an international education can be one of the most meaningful gifts you give your child.

Its value reaches far beyond a degree. It is the confidence to feel at home in a new environment. The friendships that cross borders. The ability to understand different perspectives, build a career and recognise opportunities beyond the world you grew up in.

If studying abroad is right for your child and within your family’s means, I believe it deserves serious consideration. Listen to what interests them. Give them room to discover who they are.

You cannot choose their future for them.
But you can help them have more futures to choose from.

To me, that is a remarkable gift.

Let’s talk about your child’s possibilities ↗

Let’s separate the myths from the possibilities

Six worries. A clearer picture.

Practical answers to the assumptions that can hold a family back.

MYTH 01

“You have to be a millionaire to study in the UK.”

THE REALITY

There is no single UK price tag.

Tuition varies by university and course. The published examples above start at £14,950 a year at Chester for 2026/27. We begin with your family’s budget and compare the full cost before building a shortlist.

Explore the guide ↗
MYTH 02

“Only Oxford or Cambridge is worth considering.”

THE REALITY

The right course matters more than a famous name.

Compare what you will study, how you will learn, relevant accreditation, facilities and the student environment. A university that suits your subject and ambitions can be a stronger personal choice than a name chosen for prestige alone.

Explore the guide ↗
MYTH 03

“We’ll need to rent an expensive private apartment.”

THE REALITY

Student housing gives you more options.

University halls, private student residences and shared homes offer different budgets and lifestyles. Jak helps you compare the actual rent, bills, contract length and journey to campus — rather than assume one type of housing is always cheaper.

Explore the guide ↗
MYTH 04

“Once tuition is paid, the budget is sorted.”

THE REALITY

A clear plan includes the whole experience.

Allow for accommodation, food, transport, travel, visa and health surcharge costs, study materials and a reserve. We map payment dates and the full study period, so a manageable tuition fee does not hide a bigger commitment.

Explore the guide ↗
MYTH 05

“My English has to be perfect before I can even start.”

THE REALITY

You need the required level — and a preparation plan.

Some universities offer pre-sessional English for applicants who are below their course’s language requirement. We check the accepted tests, scores and preparation options for your intended course. Entry and visa requirements still need to be met.

MYTH 06

“My child will have to cope with everything alone.”

THE REALITY

Independence can come with personal support.

An agreed VT Study Concierge package can include an airport welcome, transfer, settling-in help and a named curator. Ongoing family updates and 24/7 contact are available through separately agreed packages, with coverage and responsibilities confirmed in advance.

Accommodation, personally considered

A place to live.
A place to feel at home.

Jak can help you explore accommodation around your university — including student neighbourhoods and residences beyond the campus. Together, you can compare the location, atmosphere and practical costs before choosing.

“Who will be there

For students

“What if I do not know

You do not have to figure everything out on your first day. From finding your room to understanding university processes, you have someone to ask. Support that helps you become more independent, at your own pace.

01 / BEFORE YOU FLY

04 / THROUGHOUT YOUR STUDIES

A continuing connection.

Choose an ongoing curator package with agreed check-ins, practical guidance and family updates for the period of support you need.

Optional ongoing service

Your named curator.

A consistent point of contact who understands your situation. Agree how often you check in, what support is included and how your family stays informed. The aim is confidence and independence, with someone alongside you when needed.

Optional 24/7 support package

Someone to contact.
Day or night.

A dedicated contact channel for urgent situations. Your support team can help assess the next step and coordinate appropriate assistance, including local support or legal advice where available and within the agreed scope.

Concierge services are separately agreed and priced. City coverage, in-person visits, response arrangements and any specialist fees are confirmed before booking; a curator is not permanently based on every campus. Updates to parents are agreed with the student, with age-appropriate arrangements for under-18s. Urgent support does not replace emergency services: in an immediate emergency in the UK, call 999 or 112.

A more personal start.

You can begin with a clear ambition, a few possibilities or simply a question. Choose your perspective and create a short study brief. The student and parent journeys ask different questions, because your priorities deserve their own space.
