What should we prepare for the first conversation?

Bring the student’s current education stage, subjects and results, interests, possible start date and any preferred locations. Parents can add the family’s practical priorities, budget range and concerns. It is fine if some answers are still unknown. Tell us about factors that may affect the plan, such as accessibility needs or a complex travel history, through an appropriate private conversation rather than public messages. The first aim is to understand what needs investigating.

Can parents take part?

Yes. We want to understand the family’s circumstances while giving the student room to express their own interests. It can help to begin with a shared discussion and then give each perspective attention. Agree who will receive follow-up information and how decisions will be made. For an adult student, parental involvement should respect the student’s consent and privacy. For younger applicants, age-appropriate responsibilities and safeguarding arrangements need separate consideration.

What does a useful shortlist include?

It should explain why an option fits, what is uncertain and what needs checking. Expect a comparison of course content, entry conditions, likely costs and practical environment rather than a collection of attractive names. A shortlist can evolve after university responses or a clearer understanding of the student’s preferences. Ask which institutions and routes have been considered and why an option was excluded. You should be able to understand the reasoning behind a recommendation.

What are we paying for?

Before engagement, request a written scope showing included work, fees, payment timing, responsibilities and any cancellation terms. Education advice, application support, immigration advice, accommodation assistance and concierge services may be separate. Ask what happens if your plans change or additional work is needed. Also ask about any relevant commissions or provider relationships and how these affect the options discussed. Clear commercial terms help you decide whether a service is useful for your family.

Can we book only the support we need?

Tell us where you already are in the process. A family with an offer may need accommodation or arrival support rather than a new university shortlist. Another may want help understanding interests before considering applications. Availability and scope must be confirmed for the actual request. Do not assume that selecting a course on this website creates an application, reserves accommodation or starts a concierge package. Those steps require the relevant arrangements to be agreed.

What can you guarantee?

We can agree the work to be undertaken and how it will be delivered. Admission, visa decisions, accommodation allocation, academic progression and employment involve independent decision-makers and the student’s own circumstances. They cannot responsibly be guaranteed by an adviser. A strong service makes the process clearer, helps you prepare and identifies issues early. Start with your questions and ask us to explain both the possible benefits and the practical limits before you commit.
